Thugs in Clown Suits

A century before the Reverend Russell's birth, the English had foxing hounds and white foxing terriers in "The Colonies" to work the native Gray Fox and imported Red Fox.  When the English and Irish migrated to the "New World" and a better future, they brought with them the, small and mostly white, terriers they used for varmint and pest control.  Decades before the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America (JRTCA) was established, the Pennsylvania mountains had a history of working small, mostly white bodied, terriers to fox and wood chuck.  History refered to those terriers as Fox Creepers and Den Terriers.

Den Kreeper strives to produce terriers as the Reverend John Russell did, for function.  Matching worker to worker, only field proved bitches are paired with select working studs that have clear vision, bi-lateral hearing, and fierce prey drive.  My goal at Den Kreeper is to produce Jack Russell Terriers with the proper conformation, temperament, intelligence, and athleticism necessary to work.  A working terrier with the proper size, athleticism, and structure necessary to enter, work, and survive the earths used by its quarry.  An atheletic terrier with the bone, joints, muscle and the physical stamina necessary for endless days of field work.  A baying terrier with an even and balanced temperament, prone neither to riot nor hard.  An intelligent terrier that can learn when, where, and how to pursue its quarry, the difference between its breath and butt, and a dependable and loyal partner with its handler.  Bred for function, these terriers are also excellent choices for the Conformation Ring, Agility Competition, Go to Ground Challenges, Racing, and much more.

Den Kreeper is a Jack Russell Terrier Club of America registered kennel name.  It supports the JRTCA Constitution and Bylaws and is signature to the JRTCA Breeder Code of Ethics.  The JRTCA motto, "Preserve, Protect, and Work the Jack Russell Terrier", is both a challenge, and commitment Den Kreeper accepts and makes to one of the last surviving types of true working terriers, the Jack Russell Terrier. To learn what "The Real Jack Russell Terrier" is, and experience what a Den Kreeper Terrier can do, grab your shovel and give me a call, we'll go digging.
